Shops and mobile techs in Krum
Four businesses here list awning repair, and all four also handle roof and A/C work, so one call can cover several problems. Two of the four are mobile techs who come to your site or driveway. That is the easier route when a slide-out is stuck halfway out and you cannot tow the rig anywhere. Patriots RV Services carries the strongest reviews at 4.9 from 156 customers. Kampfam RV Mobile Service and A1 RV Repair both travel to you, and A1 lists emergency service. North Texas RV Repair/Patriot rounds out the group. Call ahead and ask whether the awning arm or fabric is in stock, because waiting on a part is the usual delay.
What the work usually involves
Awning problems tend to be either mechanical or fabric. Bent arms, stripped gears and broken torsion springs are hardware. Tears, seam separation and sun rot are fabric, and sometimes a shop can re-stitch or replace just the canopy instead of the whole assembly. Slide-outs are a different job: checking the rack, the motor and the seals, and making sure the room retracts square. If yours is stuck out, tell the tech on the phone so they bring the right tools. A slide-out left open in rain invites water into the walls, so get it covered or closed quickly. Roof and A/C calls often overlap with awning damage after hail.
Warranty and insurance questions
Two of the four Krum businesses say they do warranty work, so ask before you book. If your awning or slide-out is covered by an extended service contract, get pre-approval from the provider first. Have your policy number and photos of the damage ready. Insurance may cover storm damage but rarely wear and tear, and a shop that handles claims will know the difference. Patriots RV Services and North Texas RV Repair/Patriot both list insurance experience. While the tech is on the roof fixing the awning, have them look at the sealant around vents and seams. Small cracks turn into ceiling stains.
